Plant molecular farming gets its day in the sun (pun intended 😂) with Moolec Science raising USD30 million. The technology involves putting the gene for a product you want into a plant, growing the plant and extracting the end product. Their latest product is Piggy Sooy, a soybean engineered to contain some 26% “pork protein”.
The funds “will give Moolec’s Team new funding for key R&D projects and working capital to ramp up commercialization plan and product development initiatives.”
This continues to demonstrate that there’s always funding for good, solid, new food technologies. Today, investors are just a lot more discerning about where they put their funds.
