Coperni C+ Living clothes
My take on it all

Living clothes from Coperni Paris

Living Clothes? Clothing brand Coperni Paris has released their C+ clothing range “Infused with Probiotics and Prebiotics to Create a Synbiotic System.” It’s supposed to “work in harmony with your skin” and the textile contains a “slow release synbiotic system” that “lives within each thread”. As you move around “warmth and friction activate microscopic cultures that nourish and protect your skin’s microbiome.”

The system will apparently last through 40 washes and I suppose you buy a new one after that!

The point is not whether these “living clothes” really work or not, but that the concept of the microbiome is permeating the mainstream. It’s now not just gut microbiome, but skin with many more human niches to come.

As people come to realise how essential the holistic human microbiome is to their health this will fundamentally change their approach to food and everything else.
