Release the Kraken! That’s what Revo Foods are doing with their 3D printer mycoprotein product. The product has “high amounts of fibre, omega-3 fatty acids, and fibre. The Kraken achieves a Nutri-Score ‘A’” According to CEO Robin Simsa the typical octopus colour is achieved using colours from a combination of carrot, blueberry. paprika and sweet potato.
Adding more and more alternative protein options in more and more formats is a good thing. It encourages consumer trials, even if just from a novelty perspective and adds to the arsenal of protein products we’re going to need to feed the growing global population.
