Pulses The Future of Food
Alternative Proteins

Alternative protein scales up in Australia

This new alternative protein extraction plant to be built in South Australia is supplying what consumers want, protein. And the pie is big enough for all protein sources for many years to come. However, the fact is, that if Australia doesn’t pursue the development of new forms of protein other counties will, and Australian agriculture will suffer.

We need to be part of the future of food as well as the past. Technology and money are now global resources and they’ll flow to wherever the opportunities present themselves.

We’re still catching up with our Canadian friends, but AUD378m is a good start!
