My take on it all

World’s first robotic kitchen

The “robotisation” of food continues. Moley Robotics in the UK says it will launch its Moley robotic kitchen this year. They say that the kitchen will be “Sophisticated yet compact, it will feature the four key integrated kitchen items of robotic arms, oven, hob and touchscreen unit”. Recipes will be available via an “iTunes’ style library of recipes.”

3D printing, robot baristas, pizza robots, the list continues to grow. How long before humans are no longer required in the majority of Food Service applications? What happens to the millions of current QSR employees? Even KFC, with its fresh back of house chicken preparation, could succumb to the lure of robotising its stores!

Simultaneously fascinating and scary as hell!
